Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-05-12. Short version: nothing leaves your device. No analytics, no trackers, no SDKs.
Daydream Retriever is published by Northland Studios. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.
- We do not collect any personal data.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- High scores and cosmetic unlocks live on your device and (optionally) sync via your private iCloud account.
Per Apple's App Privacy framework, Daydream Retriever is filed as Data Not Collected. The app does not transmit user data to Northland Studios or any third party. The notes below describe the only ways data moves at all, all of which are Apple-mediated and account-private.
- iCloud Key-Value sync (optional). If you're signed in to iCloud, game state — high scores, daily-run streaks, cosmetic unlocks — syncs across your devices via Apple's NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. This is an Apple-managed, end-to-end-encrypted sync surface tied to your iCloud account. Northland Studios has no access to this data.
- Purchases (optional tip jar). The optional tip jar uses Apple's StoreKit 2. Apple handles the entire transaction. Northland Studios sees only anonymized receipt data sufficient to verify a purchase — no name, no email, no payment details, no Apple ID.
- Diagnostics. Crash logs and performance data may be sent to Apple's standard crash reporter only if you opted in to Share With App Developers in iOS Settings. These reports are aggregated by Apple and contain no personal information.
- Identifiers. None. No IDFA. No cross-app identifier. No login.
- HealthKit, Location, Camera, Contacts, Microphone, Photos. Not requested, not used.
Game state powers your high scores, daily-run summaries, and cosmetic-unlock progression — all on-device. iCloud sync, where enabled, exists so your progress follows your Apple ID across iPhone and iPad. Tip-jar receipts unlock a small cosmetic supporter badge and nothing else. None of this data is used for advertising or analytics.
Daydream Retriever does not share data with third parties, except:
- Apple, for App Store delivery, opt-in crash reports, in-app purchase processing, and iCloud Key-Value sync. All Apple-managed.
We will only disclose data if required by law (e.g., a valid subpoena) and will notify you where legally permitted.
Data stored on your device stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. We do not maintain server-side copies. iCloud-synced data is retained by Apple under your iCloud account's terms; deleting Daydream Retriever from a device does not remove its iCloud KV records — you can clear them via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
- Delete all app data by uninstalling Daydream Retriever.
- Clear iCloud-synced state via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA — contact us and we'll honor them. Because we don't transmit data off-device, most of these rights resolve to deleting the app.
Daydream Retriever is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact danieldavis16@gmail.com and we'll address it.
We'll update this page if data practices change. The effective date above reflects the current version. Material changes will also be flagged in the app's release notes.
